Meighan Nina Nurakhmetova Johnson

Watch Enthusiast

Hello, my name is Meighan. I raised in Almaty, Kazakhstan. My mother was a strong soviet lady who swore none of her children would ever rely on their smartphones to tell the time. Growing up, I would roll my eyes, wondering which watch I would get for my birthday this year.

The watch bug hit me in 2023, after I graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications with a double major in Film. I moved to Atlanta to start my career and got hired at the local TUDOR boutique as a quick way to pay rent rent while I figured stuff out. My passion for watches was ignited when I met Branyon Jones, a watchmaker who took the time to answer each and every question my ever curious brain could fathom. With that same sense of investigative journalistic, childlike wonder I used to employ within my school projects, I sought heart and soul to understand the industry I found myself in— and in doing so, I fell in love.

Join me in provocative, meandering thought, as I journey through the watch industry and jot my thoughts along, and please, never hesitate to answer the call and let me know your thoughts as well.
